Ray's Music
Ray Rector's music
has been influenced by several artists including Hank Williams
Sr., Lefty Frizzell, Hank Thompson, Merle Haggard, George Jones, &
Marty Robbins. To present day traditional country music stars
Randy Travis, George Straight & Alan Jackson.
The title song
from his first album
"Legal Tender Green"
came about from childhood memories of growing up in the inner city
and attending Riverside Grade School. A school where anyone on the
lower end of the economic scale, no matter what your nationality,
was so called "schooled". The song also reflects on the financial
struggles that Ray's parents faced and what they endured to
survive.
You will notice in
his music that there will be several shades of blue on the songs
that represent the hurt and the lonely, along with words of
warnings that if heeded could spare many people from heartaches
and sorrow.
Other songs on Ray's
album show still yet another side of his music depicting the
upbeat, sometimes witty, just for fun, live, love, laugh and have
a good time music.
Ray's newest album
"Las Vegas Sun"
is out now. All songs
were written and performed by Ray Rector. All music performed by
Paul Shields. All back vocals were performed by Susan Lea.
Ray's sincerest
thanks to family, friends and fans. Also special thanks to James
Roch'e, his wife Michelle, their two sons Graham and Little
Jackson.
So sit back, relax,
listen to Ray's music and find out for yourself.
We hope you decide to include both of these albums in your collection!
