About
Ray
Ray Rector was born
and raised in Frederick, Oklahoma. His love for country music started at a
very early age. His mom would play the guitar and sing to him
while his dad was off at war. Two years later his dad returned
home, the war ended, but the music never did. His dad bought him a
guitar and his mom taught him how to play. They always encouraged
and supported him and Ray has been writing, singing and playing
ever since.
Ray recorded his first record
"Love Account"
&
"Little Girl To Daddy
Talk" at the age of twenty two. This record was a local success
and received a lot of airplay on the Oklahoma country music
stations. At one time it was #14 on the charts, it was also on
over one hundred jukeboxes in and around the Oklahoma City area.
Being a responsible
adult Ray chose to put his desire for music on hold to focus his
attention on raising and supporting his family. |

After his children were grown Ray pursued the career he had left
behind once more. He performed whenever possible, always searching
to fulfill the craving for satisfying an audience with his very
own style of musical works. Music was in his blood and even after
he quit performing he always kept writing. After years of dreaming
about it Ray finally decided to dig through the hundreds of songs
he had filed away and turn his dreams into a reality.
Ray released his first album
"Ray Rector Vol. 1 Legal Tender Green"
in October of 2000 with Angelreen
Music Publishing, Inc & HCR Records. Ray has since
released his second album "Ray Rector Volume 2 Las Vegas Sun"
which was released in 2010 and Ray is presently working on his
third album "Ray Rector Tornado Alley" which should be ready to be
released by mid-September of 2011. |
